With the internet growing in users, you think: so too is the competition growing for social media attention; but is the competition really that deep? We see new faces come forth into the spotlight almost daily. Just scroll through TikTok for a week and tally the number of different faces you discover. Those faces are on their way to social media popularity, whether short or long term; so, bottom line, there’s definitely room more.

Influencers, themselves, watch other influencers. It’s a simple as producing an image or video with a different flare than your peers and you have a foot in the door. You have to put work into it, of course, but determination wins every time.

The first step to making a living as an influencer is to understand what you’re trying to accomplish. The old saying, “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there, ” certainly applies here. There are many levels of influence: micro influencers with no more than 1,000 followers, macro with 20K-50K followers and then super macro with over 500K followers. Find a niche that speaks to you and run with it.
